Kuwaiti emir thanks El-Sisi for making Gulf security an Egyptian concern
Kuwaiti delegation visits Egypt's president, who says that both countries must focus on security and restoring Islam's image

Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi received a message from Kuwait's Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah on Thursday afternoon, delivered by Marzouk Al-Ghamem, head of the Kuwaiti National Assembly.
El-Ghanem called on El-Sisi along with a delegation of Kuwaiti parliament members currently on a visit to Egypt.
El-Ghanem said that he hopes Egypt will succeed in its upcoming parliamentary elections – which come after a constitutional referendum in January and presidential election in May as part of the political roadmap adopted by the Egyptian regime following the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi in July of last year.
El-Ghanem also thanked El-Sisi for considering the Gulf region's security as part of Egypt's own interests.
For his part, El-Sisi asked El-Ghanem to deliver his greetings and appreciation to Al-Sabah and Kuwait for supporting Egypt in its quest to restore its role as the region's leader, according to spokesman for the Egyptian presidency Ehab Bedawy.
Badawy added that El-Sisi asserted that the future efforts of both countries should focus on national security as well as defending Islam and correcting its image worldwide against radicalism and associations with terrorism.
Kuwait, along with Saudi Arabia and UAE, have pledged to give Egypt $12 billion as part of continuing Gulf aid following Morsi's ouster.
