Security sources stated that two people have been killed early Tuesday in a road accident southern Cairo, Al-Ahram's Arabic news website reported. The sources said the two cars crashed on Autostrad highway because of excessive speed. Egypt has the highest rate of road accidents and related deaths in the Middle East, according to international and local reports, with an average of 12,000 people killed annually according to the World Health Organisation (WHO).
