Barcelona star Xavi Hernandez has signed a pre-contract with Qatari side Al-Arabi worth €8 million per six months, Spain newspaper Marca reported. The 37-year-old is the third player to leave the Camp Nou after Victor Valdes and Carles Puyol announced their departure. "Xavi has signed a pre-contract with us," Al-Arabi coach Daniel Vasile Petrescu said. "Other clubs were interested in him (Xavi), but our offer has convinced him. I've spoken to him personally on the phone," he added. "Al-Arabi will pay him around €8m for every six months of competition." Xavi Hernandez made his Barcelona debut in 1998, scoring 81 goals in 723 appearances. He won two club World Cups, three UEFA Champions League, two UEFA Super Cup, seven Spain La Liga, two Copa del Ray and six Spain Super Cups.
