FIFA honours Egyptian coach Hassan Shehata

FIFA President Joseph Blatter has awarded Egyptian coach Hassan Shehata the FIFA Order of Merit during the opening ceremony of the 64th FIFA Congress in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Shehata was invited by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to represent Africa at the prestigious ceremony on Tuesday, days ahead of the World Cup.
Earlier in June, the former Egypt coach was appointed coach of Morocco's Difaa El-Jadida.
The 65-year-old will start his mission with the Moroccan outfit after the end of the World Cup in July.
Shehata will replace Algerian coach Abdelhak Benchikha who opted to take charge of Moroccan giants Raja de Casablanca.
Shehata's managerial career has been remarkable. He guided Egypt to three consecutive African Cup of Nations titles in 2006, 2008 and 2010, an unprecedented feat.
He was sacked by the Pharaohs following their failure to reach the 2012 Nations Cup in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.
He spent a short spell as Zamalek's coach in 2011, resigning after a troubled 11-month reign.
After leaving Zamalek, Shehata was appointed coach of Qatari side El-Arabi but he was sacked following a string of poor results.
