Cairo's art house cinema Zawya will be screening short films by Egyptian directors for three nights, Friday to Sunday, 13-15 June, during its 6:30pm slot. The Egyptian directors on display are ones that have received local and international acclaim over the last decade – but most of their films have not been screened commercially. Each night will screen six to seven films and the directors will be available for a Q&A session afterwards. Since it opened its doors in March 2014, Zawya has held its promise of showing audiences something different than what usually plays at normal cinemas, with a variety of retrospectives, documentaries and films from acclaimed European, American and Arab directors.
