Art Alert: Zawya presents a weekend revisiting Egyptian short films
Cairo's art house cinema Zawya presents three evenings dedicated to short films by Egyptian directors across the past decade

Cairo's art house cinema Zawya will be screening short films by Egyptian directors for three nights, Friday to Sunday, 13-15 June, during its 6:30pm slot.
The Egyptian directors on display are ones that have received local and international acclaim over the last decade – but most of their films have not been screened commercially.
Each night will screen six to seven films and the directors will be available for a Q&A session afterwards.
Since it opened its doors in March 2014, Zawya has held its promise of showing audiences something different than what usually plays at normal cinemas, with a variety of retrospectives, documentaries and films from acclaimed European, American and Arab directors.
