Two suicide attacks which took place in El-Tor city, a 100km north of Sharm El Sheikh in South Sinai targeted a checkpoint and a tour bus early Friday, leaving at least one conscript dead and nine others injured. The first attack happened when a suicide bomber blew himself up at the "Wady El Tor" security checkpoint, killing himself and a conscript as well injuring five other security personnel. The "Wady El-Tor" security checkpoint is operated by both the police and the armed forces. Shortly after the first attack, a suicide bomber targeted a tour bus carrying workers of a tourist company in "Ras Gara" area in the South Sinai governorate. According to an Ahram Arabic gate reporter in South Sinai, the suicide bomber blew himself up while standing in the path of a tour bus carrying workers down Tor Sinai highway from "Horus Tourist Company" to Sharm El-Sheikh, killing himself and injuring four others. This is considered to be the first attack targeting a tour bus in South Sinai since the attack on a tour bus carrying Korean tourists in Taba in February. The injured were transferred to El-Tor and the armed forces general hospitals. A security source told Ahram Arabic Gate that security forces closed the entrances and exits of El-Tor city after the blasts.
