Hundreds of demonstrations participated in a march from Talaat Harb Street to Tahrir Square on Thursday November 17. The march witnessed clashes between the demonstrators and the public committees dominated by Islamists, especially since the demonstrators chanted, "Our revolution is public, not Salafi or a Muslim Brotherhood (MB) revolution." On the other hand, the Egyptian January 25 Revolution martyrs' families and Independent Union of Revolution Youth decided to organize a strike in Tahrir until demands raised by the Egyptian people during January 25 Revolution are met and power is transferred from Egypt's ruing military council to an elected civil presidential council. They demanded Egypt's different political and national powers to pressure the ruling military council to stick to its promises towards those who have been injured during the revolution and the martyrs' families. Member of the union, Mohamed Salama al-Hilaly, demanded authorities to delay the next parliamentary elections in Egypt especially with the current insecurity threatening the electoral process. It is important to mention the iconic Tahrir Square witnessed a political controversy among different political powers since Thursday November 17. A large number of demonstrators rallied in the square with food, preparing for the Friday of Sole Demand November 18, encouraged by many political powers.
