CAIRO: The administrative prosecution will supervise Egypt's Bar Association election and has been asked by the judicial committee to perform their duty in easing tensions between lawyers and judges, said Judge Mahmoud al-Yamani. He told Youm7 the committee's decision came as judges believe lawyers have a right to be represented in an elected Bar Association council to express their objectives properly and defend their rights. He criticized what some lawyers did, such as closing the courts, during their crisis with judges. He also blamed the absence of an elected council as the reason behind not discussing the judiciary law that's pushing for having the lawyers' syndicate elections immediately which caused controversy recently. Al-Yamani demanded the lawyers to respect the results of the coming elections and the majority's vision. With justice being on the main demands of the January 25 Revolution, he also demanded the ruling military council issue a law of judiciary independence for Egypt's Ministry of Justice.
