ISMAILIA, Egypt: The April 6 Movement and Ahmed Maher Group will begin its electoral campaign for the People's Assembly elections in Ismailia today. The campaign titled ‘White and Black Circles.' Thousands of leaflets are distributed to increase electoral awareness in many regions in the governorate of Suez, including the countryside, villages, Ismailia University and Ismailia city. April 6 Movement coordinator Khaled Shoukry said the campaign aims to increase citizens' awareness about choosing who to vote for in upcoming parliamentary elections. The ‘Black Circle' refers to members of Egypt's formerly ruling but now-dissolved National Democratic Party (NDP) and those who corrupted political life under the former regime. “Egyptian citizens must be responsible. They must know those who corrupt their lives in the past shouldn't be elected again,” Shoukry said. Shoukry said the campaign will include most of the Ismailia residents.
