CAIRO: U.S. Ambassador to Egypt Anne Patterson this week encouraged Americans to visit Egypt after she toured the Upper Egyptian regions of Qena and Luxor. “ I encourage my fellow Americans to come and see these beautiful treasures and enjoy Egypt's gracious hospitality,” said Ambassador Patterson, quoted today in a press release by the U.S. Embassy. The ambassador met with Governor of Qena Gen. Adel Labeb and Governor of Luxor Dr. Ezzat El-Borai and toured the ancient temples of Luxor, Karnak and Dendara, according to a press release today by the U.S. Embassy. Patterson also visited two joint U.S.-Egypt projects in Qena, the Khozam Agricultural Technical School and the Teba Farm. The two projects aim to “invest in Egypt's economic prosperity” through job creation, increased productivity, and encouraging women in the work force.
