The Auja border crossing was closed for the ninth day in a row Tuesday, after sources said masked armed men cut off the road between the crossing and the capital of North Sinai Governorate, Arish. Local sources said that the roadblock comes as a protest, after the government did not meet the Bedouin demands to repeal all the sentences issued against them in absentia, and to improve their living conditions. Eyewitnesses confirmed that armed men prevented workers' cars and vehicles from passing to the Auja crossing.
