Sixteen bodies of protestors killed in the Maspiro clashes underwent autopsies in the Coptic hospital, after their relatives approved the procedure. Some of the victims' families refused to receive their bodies, saying they wanted to know the exact reason for their death. The legal representative of the victims' families, Mohamed Fouad, said that the hospital medical reports confirmed the reasons behind the death was gunfire. Without knowing the type of bullet, families said they could not receive the bodies. Physicians from the "Tahrir Doctors" and "Doctors without Rights" were summoned to attend the autopsy that will be performed by doctors from the morgue, to make sure that no manipulation will take place. Doctors at the Coptic Hospital asked the Ministry of Health to transfer some of the wounded to another hospital, citing a lack of capacity.
