CAIRO: Egyptian politicians criticized Egypt's ruling military council's eight decisions as a result of its meeting with 13 Egyptian political party leaders on Saturday October 1. Skeptics pointed out these decisions renew the agreements of the former regime with opposition forces. The politicians expressed their total refusal of the military council's last decisions, which claims, "Leaders of political parties who signed this statement announce their total support and appreciation for Egypt's ruling military council efforts to save the Egyptian January 25 Revolution." Head of the National Association for Change, Ahmed Darag, said political party leaders accepted everything the military council wanted, especially after cancelling article no. 5 of election law. "The 13 parties accepted to take posts, those who rush for posts cannot meet the Egyptians' needs. They sold out their promises to reach Egyptians' demands just to get a parliamentary seat," Drag said. Leader of Nasserist Party Sameh Ashour refused the military council's decision, "This is considered ‘political begging.' The military council prefers to deal and re-practice tactics and policies of the former regime.” Democratic Front of April 6 spokesman, (a breakaway group of the April 6 Youth Movement), Tarek Kholy, criticized third the military council's third decision about forbidding just some members of dissolved National Democratic Party (NDP) from being involved in political life. Khloy demanded to exclude all members of the NDP away from political life. Regarding the political parties signing the statement of the military council, Khloy pointed the military council only meets the protesters' demands when there are demonstrations and strikes in Tahrir Square. Head of National Egypt Party Talaat Sadat expects the military council to reform article no. 5 of the elections law after many political parties opposed it.
