Israeli Ambassador to Egypt Yitzhak Levanon said living in Cairo after Egypt's January 25 Revolution was difficult and that the Egyptian media has not made his return any easier. Levanon left Egypt two weeks ago after a group of demonstrators attacked the Israeli Embassy. During an interview with the BBC, Levanon said, "The latest declarations of the Egyptian minister of social justice were really disappointing." Minister Gouda Abdel Khalik had said Israel is the only Zionist enemy to Egypt. Levanon said such irresponsible declarations should not be issued by government officials. “I wish stability to brought back to Egypt's political life,” said Levanon. He added, "The relations between both countries are not affected since the change came from inside Egypt and outside." He also said that contacts are being held between the two governments for his return, but he can't determine a specific date.
