news Link: , (ECWR), CAIRO: The Egyptian Center for Women's Rights expressed its refusal of the military investigations conducted with political activist Asmaa Mahfouz. In a statement, the ECWR denounced trying civilians before military courts, considering such a measure as suppression of the freedom of expression for which Egyptians struggled during the January 25 Revolution. The statement added that such measures aim to terrorize political activists, expressing fears of taking such measures against Mahfouz for her statement against Egypt's ruling military council. The center demanded not to refer civilians to military courts and not summoning activists and journalists to prosecution to ensure freedom of expression. It called for releasing all demonstrators imprisoned since the beginning of the revolution.
