Interior Minister creates initiative to collect unregistered weapons

Egyptian citizens can now turn in unregistered weapons without being subject to rigorous questioning and investigation if the weapon was used for “self-defense” purposes, said Minister of the Interior Mansour el-Issawy.
The ministry announced it had created a hotline for those who want to hand in their weapons.
El-Issawy asked all citizens for their cooperation in preserving the stability and security of the country.
