DAQAHLYIA, Egypt: The new Egyptian Ahrar Party held its first cultural seminar in Mansoura yesterday under the title, “The role of literature in the Egyptian Revolution.” The seminar was chaired by Ahrar's highest authority, Hamada Awadeen. Awadeen said literature had a large, positive impact on the January 25 Revolution. He said literature boosted the revolution through poetry, novels, short stories, and plays. Ahrar Party is keen to hold cultural and literature seminars with Egyptian youth to showcase their cultural works, Awadeen said. “Literature gathers all scattered ideas and ideologies for the aim of patriotism,” said seminar Poet Ali Abd el-Aziz. Meanwhile, journalist Awad Abdo Mohammed delivered a speech on the Revolution through which he tackled how the revolution charmed the world as the Egyptian people, mute for 30 years, suddenly spoke out and called for their rights in a polite and civilized way.
