Ghana midfielder Michael Essien might not feature in his side's opening African Cup of Nations (CAN) clash against Togo on Monday, the Ghana Football Association said. The Chelsea midfielder returned to full training on Wednesday after recovering from a hamstring injury he picked up last month. However, his availability for Ghana's game against Togo is yet to be determined. "Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac will be assessing the midfielder because he has yet to regain full match fitness before taking a decision on when to start his captain for the competition," the association said on its website. The Black Stars will play in Group B that also includes Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso.
