Hosni Abd-Rabou's Ahli Dubai crashed to their first defeat in the UAE League after being outdone by 10-man Al-Wehda. The hosts, who are managed by Egyptian coach Ahmed Abdul-Halim, secured an impressive 4-1 victory despite the dismissal of Tunisian midfielder Karim Aouadhi in the 61st minute. Four goals were scored in a pulsating first-half. Al-Wehda went two up after 10 minutes, thanks to goals from Ismail Matar and Brazilian forward Pinga. Abdulraheem Jumaa added the third in the 33rd minute but an own goal by Al-Wehda keeper Ali Rabie just before the break narrowed the gap. Bashir Saied put the result beyond doubt when he netted Al-Wehda's fourth goal seven minutes after the restart. Egypt midfielder Abd-Rabou took part in the game but failed to impress. The 23-year-old, who joined the Dubai outfit from Ismaili on a two-year loan deal, is yet to reach his peak. He had a couple of decent efforts though. His powerful free-kick was blocked by Rabie in the 17th minute. Six minutes past the hour mark, Abd-Rabou tried his luck from distance but his shot narrowly missed the target. Ahli Dubai slipped to fourth spot in the league table with six points, one adrift of the top three – Al-Jazeera, Al-Ain and Al-Wehda.
