Goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has said his teammates needed to adjust their attitude for Juventus to succeed in Serie B after their 1-1 draw with Rimini in the opening game of their Serie B campaign. "We had the wrong attitude," Buffon said as reported by Calcio Italia magazine. "It wasn't the right mental approach and I didn't see the Juve accustomed to playing in Serie A. "Nobody is giving you anything for free here and Serie B is not a series of exhibition games where you can show off your tricks," he added. Juventus, who begun the season with a 17 point deduction after being relegated from Serie A for match-fixing, struggled against Rimini. The tie didn't surprise Buffon, who said his team had the necessary skills but lacked focus. "We have the qualities of a great side, but not the concentration," he said. Nevertheless, Buffon remains confident that it will be a speedy return to Serie A. "My decision to stay was because I hope my performances can help Juve immediately climb back up," the World Cup winner said. "But we are human and need to be knocked down before we can stand up," he said. "That's what the 3-1 defeat in France did for the Azzurri and hopefully the same can happen for Juve here.” Juventus underwent a chug exodus of players after relegation, and Buffon, who openly declared his loyalty to the team, was hailed as a hero by fans. A few other high profile players have stayed with the club including Alessandro Del Piero, Pavel Nedved, and David Trezeguet. While the big names remain, for Buffon, now is the time to put past glories aside and focus on winning in the new league. "If you want to challenge yourself, you have to forget all the success you've accrued and dive into the new adventure," he added.
