Real agree with Arsenal Baptista-Reyes swap deal
Published in FilGoal on 31 - 08 - 2006

Real Madrid have agreed a deal with Arsenal to sign Spanish forward Jose Antonio Reyes on loan for one season in exchange for Brazilian Julio Baptista, Marca newspaper reported on Thursday.
Reyes will wear the number 19 jersey with Spanish giants Real, while Baptista has already passed the medical examination with Arsenal in London, the paper added.
Reyes' future with Gunners was the subject of intense speculation after he expressed his desire to return to Spain, citing life adjustment problems as a reason behind his decision to leave the Londoners.
Madrid duo Atletico and Real were leading the chase for his signature but the latter succeeded in acquiring the services of the Spanish international.
On the other hand, Baptista failed to snatch a regular place in Los Meringues squad since his arrival from Sevilla last summer.
