Liverpool agree Kuyt fee
Published in FilGoal on 17 - 08 - 2006

Liverpool agreed a fee with Dutch side Feyenoord for forward Dirk Kuyt, the Premiership club said on their official website on Thursday.
"For me, Liverpool is sure to be the dream club I was looking for," the Dutch international was quoted as saying on the Liverpool's website. "It is an honor to play for a club like that."
The signing of the 26-year-old striker puts an end to a summer-long saga that saw Kuyt linked to Newcastle United and Tottenham as well.
"There was more interest from abroad, but for me there was nothing of the caliber of Liverpool, a brilliant club with an enormous reputation, fantastic support and a fabulous history.

He will face an uphill task against Premiership defenders like Carvalho
British media claimed the deal was in the ball-park of 10 million pounds ($18.96 million).
Feyenoord chairman Jorien van den Herik said he did all he can to keep Kuyt at De Kuip.
"We did everything we could to keep Dirk at Feyenoord," he told the club's official website.
"We went a long way to doing that and Dirk was open to that, but we knew that the chance was he would leave if his dream club came in. Liverpool is his dream club."
Feyenoord said that Kuyt will complete a physical at Merseyside on Thursday before putting pen to paper on a reported four-year-contract.
