French midfielder Robert Pires said that he will hold contract talks with Arsenal later this week, BBC reported on Monday. "I have a meeting planned with coach Arsene Wenger and don't know what will come of it," Pires told English daily The Sun. The 32-year-old's contract expires next summer and he is seeking another two-year extension while Arsenal are not ready to hand their over-30s more than a one-year deal. Pires said that he wants to play on a regular basis while expressing his desire to commit his future to Highbury. "If I am to stay I will do so with great pleasure, if not I'll try elsewhere. What I want is to play, even though I'm on the bench at the moment," he said. The former Marseille midfielder played 15 matches this season and scored four goals in all competitions.
