Egyptian pop singer Mohamed Mounir has denied that he had signed a document backing Mohamed ElBaradie as a candidate in Egypt's 2011 presidential election, asserting that he has no political agenda. Mounir said on his official website that he had not signed any document to join the "National Coalition for Change" led by ElBaradei, the former chief of the UN nuclear watchdog. The singer stressed that everything published on this subject was false and explaind that a photo, which allegedly showed him signing the document in support of ElBaradie, was an old one in which he was signing a contract for a concert. ElBaradei is pushing for political reforms in Egypt to allow independents to run for presidency. Although ElBaradei has not yet decided to run in Egypt's upcoming presidential election, he is pearheading a high-profile pro-reform campaign.
