Egypt's Al-Ahly are unable to fly from Belarussia to Tunisia to participate in the 2010 Men's African Clubs Champions Volleyball Championship, which starts on Thursday and runs until April 30 in Tunisia. The Egyptian side can't travel by air due to the Icelandic volcano which erupted earlier this month, halting all flights in Europe and causing the airlines heavy financial losses. The team are planning to fly to Istanbul and then to Tunisia on Wednesday. Ahly's compatriots Zamalek, who are also participating in the same championship, which features 18 teams from 14 African countries, are now training in Tunisia. The competition is a qualifier for the African representative in the 2010 FIVB Men's Club World Championship, which will be held in December in Qatar. The clubs expected in the nine-day competition include Zamalek, Al-Ahly, Etoile de Sahel, Sydia of Tunisia and Al-Ahly Tripoli of Libya.
