CAIRO - The Political Parties Committee, responsible for approving political party applications registration, endorsed two more parties: the pan-Arab Karama party and the Salafist Asala party. The Asala party was formed after the revolution that ousted Hosni Mubarak's regime, as most Salafists have stayed out of politics for years. In contrast, the Karama party has been functioning for years and had applied for registration before the revolution, but was denied recognition under the Mubarak regime. The two main Karama party representatives submitting the applications were Amin Eskandar and presidential hopeful Hamdin Sabahi. As for the Asala party there were three main representatives: Adel Abd el-Maqsoud Afifi, Ihab Mohamed Ali Shiha and Mohamed Ibrahim Abdel Fattah Sultan.
