SINAI - Governor of North Sinai Abdel Wahab Mabrouk Sunday ordered the release of 35 more detainees in enforcement of a former decree by the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces and the Ministry of Interior. "Thirty five detainees were released as the second batch of releases in the governorate. More detainees will be set free in the forthcoming days," said Mabrouk. Last week, 56 detainees were released in North Sinai, 28 of them were political detainees. Mohamed Farid Hegazy, the commander of Egypt's Second Army, said last week police had been redeployed in the Sinai Peninsula and would treat local Bedouin respectfully, urging Bedouins to help them do their job.
