CAIRO-Minister of Culture Farouq Hosni has instructed that around 300 paintings be wrapped and moved from a Cairo Museum where a precious painting was stolen last month. The Mohamed Mahmoud Khalil, where Van Goh's "Poppy Flowers" was stolen for the second time on August 21, will be extensively developed after investigations cited security lapses there, according to officials at the Ministry of Culture. Egyptian authorities have closed six museums over security concerns since the theft, which triggered a blame game between Minister Hosni and his aide Mohssen Shaalan, who is being kept in police custody over charges of negligence.
