KHARGA, Egypt, Oct 6, 2018 (MENA) - Egyptian Health Ministry Undersecretary Sayeda Musharaf on Saturday said that a field hospital was set up in Rashdah village for following up the injured due to a fire that broke out on Friday in palm farms in the village. In press statements, she added that up to 30 cases were treated so far. They are all suffering from suffocation, burns or fainting. Some cases are still under observation, she added, noting that a high state of alert was announced in all hospitals in the city after the fire broke out. The fire was caused by strong winds which set up to 60 feddans on fire. Most of the people injured in a massive fire that broke out in palm farms in Rashdah village in the New Valley governorate have recovered, New Valley Governor Mohamed el Zamalout said on Saturday. The injured included seven firefighters and civil defense forces, he said in press statements on Saturday. The governor pointed out that 50 ambulances were dispatched to the blaze site and swiftly carried the injured to nearby hospitals and health units. Five mobile clinics were set up at the scene of the fire, Zamalout added. Some of the injured cases are still under observation, he said. Strong winds and bad weather sweeping the governorate have made it difficult to control the fire at night, the governor said, stressing that the blaze has been contained. Meanwhile, Zamalout noted that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has ordered to send four military firefighter aircraft to help control the fire.
