Interior Ministry: 543 inmates pardoned, released on parole

CAIRO, Sept 5 , 2018 (MENA) - The Interior Ministry's Prisons Sector said on Wednesday that 156 inmates will be pardoned while 387 others will be released on parole on the occasion of Eid el Adha (Greater Bairam), which fell in August.
In a statement, the ministry said that the move comes in line with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's decree no. 391/2018 on pardoning some prisoners on the occasion of Eid el Adha.
The prison sector formed committees to examine the cases of prisoners who deserve to be pardoned or released on parole.
