CAIRO, July 8, 2018 (MENA) - Egyptian Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Ezz El Din Abu Steit stressed on sunday the state's keenness on boosting agriculture sector and protecting the interests of farmers. During a speech before Parliament's agriculture and irrigation committee, Abu Steit said agriculture is the main supporter of the Egyptian economy throughout history, adding that the government aims to boost agriculture by reclaiming 1.5 million feddans as part of the land development project. He explained that the government program prioritized the comprehensive development of the project by focusing on farming and land reclamation, as well as benefiting from the whole area of the one million and a half acres of land. In addition, he underlined that the ministry will seek to identify the available water resources and provide guidance care through the preparation, processing and implementation of pilot sites in the beneficiaries' lands that will be distributed during the various stages of the project.
