CAIRO, June 3, 2018 (MENA) - Egypt's Trade Minister Tareq Qabil said non-petroleum exports upped 16% in the first four months of 2018 to stand at $ 8.644 billion against $ 7.432 billion in the same period in 2017. Foreign trade rose by 12% to register $ 29.357 million in the four months against $ 26.138 million in the corresponding period in 2017, according to a report which the trade minister received from the General Organisation For Export and Import Control. The minister said these figures give a positive indication of the success of the ministry's 2020 strategy for boosting foreign trade. Qabil explained that the ministry works on tapping new markets, expanding the already existing ones and maximising the benefit of free trade agreements.
