MADRID, May 29, 2018 (MENA) - Ruben Pons, the Spanish physiotherapist who treats the Liverpool star Mohammed Salah said Tuesday that Salah's injury might affect his participation in the Egypt-Uruguay match, set for June 15 in the beginning of World Cup 2018. Interviewed by the Spanish "Marca" newspaper, Pons said that when he saw Salah falling on the ground in the Liverpool-Real Madrid match, he knew that something serious had happened. Salah was shocked, and he tried to console him, he said. Initially, Salah needs three to four weeks of treatment for his shoulder injury, but we will try to shorten this time, despite its difficulty, he said. Mohamed Salah's Champions League final ended in heartbreak on Saturday evening, as the Liverpool forward suffered a game-ending injury in the first-half against Real Madrid. It was later announced that the 25-year-old had suffered a dislocated shoulder, an injury which could rule him out of the 2018 World Cup. However, the Egyptian FA later tweeted that they had been informed Salah had sustained "a sprain the shoulder ligaments", raising hopes he could yet travel to Russia. Salah landed awkwardly on his shoulder after a challenge from Real captain Sergio Ramos, with the Spanish defender appearing to keep hold of the Egyptian's arm as they tumbled to the ground.
