CAIRO, May 21,2018 (MENA) - Minister of State for Immigration Nabila Makram asserted the importance of the role played by the civil society in supporting communication and social solidarity in the light of the state's keenness on linking the Egyptian expatriates with their homeland and the state institutions. During a meeting with Minister of Social Solidarity Ghada Wali and a working team from both ministries to discuss the establishment of a civil association to group Egyptian think-tanks abroad, Makram said the association will play a national role in terms of making suggestions in various fields particularly science and technology and creating a database of scientists and experts abroad for communication. "The association is important as being an entity that comprises Egyptian experts abroad and connects them with young researchers at home to establish a generation capable of moving ahead towards reaching a scientific renaissance," she said. Wali asserted readiness to offer all support to accelerate the establishment of the association. "The association will play a key role in organising activities and functions inside and outside Egypt and connecting Egypt with the Egyptian expatriates to make use of their expertise in implementing mega national projects and supporting it in realising its sustainable development strategy," she added.
