CAIRO, April 10, 2018 -The joint Egyptian-Emirati naval drill Khalifa 3 started in the Red Sea base on Tuesday involving naval and air force units from both Egypt and the United Arab Emirates. The drill aims at strengthening military relations between Egypt and the UAE and exchanging expertise to hone the skills of commanders and officers and preserve their combat efficiency. The drill's major phase included several training activities for protecting naval communication lines, the management of various combat activities and the training of naval unit crews on facing potential naval threats. The drill is part of military cooperation between the Egyptian and the UAE navies and with a view to maximizing the benefits from the abilities of the two countries.
