CAIRO, March 12, 2018 - Prime Minister Sherif Ismail has directed the State Information Service to sustain the performance development process with a view to expanding awareness of achievements that have recently been made in various sectors. During a meeting with SIS Chief Diaa Rashwan on Monday, the Prime Minister also stressed the importance of maintaining coordination and liaison between the SIS and government officials in shedding more light on efforts under way to realise sustainable development, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported. At the start of the meeting, SIS Chairman Rashwan outlined a number of ideas that that had been formulated with the aim of upgrading the service's functioning modalities and its role in communicating with foreign press organisations so as to convey to the world the true image of Egyptian affairs and providing a reliable source of information. The meeting also covered a review of the present map of the distribution of SIS offices abroad and a consideration of some proposals relating to the service's budget in the light of its envisaged activities, the news agency added. Speaking to a Justice |Ministry seminar yesterday, SIS Chairman Rashwan said that TV channels and media outlets affiliated to the Muslim Brotherhood group seek to propagate terrorist thought especially through the presentation of judicially-convicted persons as political opponents and repressed people.
