Egypt's Environment Minister discusses cooperation with WB delegation in Cairo
Fouad pointed to the state's efforts towards integrating environmental sustainability in all sectors

Egypt's Minister of Environment Yasmine Fouad met with a World Bank (WB) delegation headed by Ayat Soliman, the WB's Regional Director of Sustainable Development for the Middle East and North Africa, to discuss bilateral cooperation regarding climate change and preparations for the upcoming COP 27.
Fouad expressed her appreciation for cooperation with development partners in supporting environmental work, especially in light of the coming period, which will witness important steps in the implementation of green projects and the translation of the national strategy for climate change into a package of executive projects in the field of mitigation and adaptation to the effects of climate change.
She also pointed to the state's efforts towards integrating environmental sustainability in all sectors of development and the green economy in recent years, according to a statement by ministry on Sunday.
Furthermore, the minister explained that the past period witnessed work on a number of initiatives and the preparation of a set of strategies, including the 2050 National Climate Change Strategy, the Strategy for Natural Reserves, the Strategy for Renewable Energy, as well as the Strategy for Solid Waste.
Moreover, Fouad noted that the United Nations' Conference of Parties on Climate Change (COP 27) that will be held in Sharm El-Sheikh will include discussions on adapting to and mitigating the effects of climate change and availing climate finance for developing countries.
For their part, the delegation praised Egypt's environmental programmes and expressed their readiness to assist in organising the COP 27 and financing adaptation programmes in Africa.
