Orange Egypt has announced the inauguration of its advanced data centre for cloud computing services "Orange Business Cloud" for the first time in Egypt, in cooperation with its global partner, Huawei Technologies.
The launch of the new services comes as part of Orange Egypt's strategy to transform from a mobile operator to an integrated telecommunications provider and expand its services that specifically target corporate clients in cooperation with various major international companies.
The new data centre was established to be environmentally friendly with a "free cooling" system that preserves the environment and saves electricity consumption from 30% to 40%. This system also contains reliable energy resources equipped with full separate backup sources for each server.
Orange cloud computing services are the first True Cloud product provided to large enterprises in Egypt where Orange has managed to provide telecommunication services at the highest standards of efficiency after signing a series of cooperation agreements with specialised international companies. Recently, Orange Egypt signed a partnership agreement with Huawei Technologies with the aim of providing the necessary infrastructure to avail services, especially Cloud IaaS services.

Corporate clients will also be able to leverage the highest performance advantages in using information technology resources such as Virtual Storage, Virtual Network, Virtual Firewall, and Virtual Load Balancer, without having to spend their own investments on advanced services.
In addition, Orange Egypt's cloud computing services provide a local alternative solution to global services, enabling companies operating in Egypt to create virtual data centres pursuant to local laws, manage service accounts locally, as well as offer Orange Egypt support, the local partner that has considerable global expertise in the ICT field.

Additionally, the centre meets the global requirements for business continuity in disaster situations such as the ability to retrieve data virtually".
Moreover, Hisham Mahran, Enterprise Line of Business Officer at Orange Egypt, expressed his pride in the inauguration of this advanced data centre which he believes will achieve the key objectives of corporates business, support their geographical expansion, maximise revenues growth, help them provide diversified services, and save costs thanks to the smart management of their cloud applications.
