An explosion near a checkpoint close to Al-Qubba Palace on Monday early morning injured two policemen, according to Ministry of Interior's (MOI) spokesman Hany Abdel Latif. Abdel Latif added that the explosion was caused by a homemade bomb planted near Al-Sawah checkpoint in north-eastern Cairo, which is close to Al-Qubba Palace. Abdel Latif said that there is no information available to this moment about the perpetrators of the bomb attack. A team from Al-Matariya prosecution office headed to the scene of the explosion, state-owned news agency MENA reported.
