KUALA LUMPUR: Ahead of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, Malaysia's Prime Minister Najib Razak called on world leaders to kick-start the global economy and set an ambitious agenda for growth. “After a prolonged period of sluggish growth, we all hope that this year the global economy will awake from its torpor,” he began in a statement issued to the media, including Bikyanews.com. “Troubles in the Eurozone persist, US policymakers are yet to agree on the debt ceiling and questions remain over the sustainability of growth in emerging markets. So when political, business and thought leaders meet together in Davos, we must start to identify the reforms needed to reinvigorate the world economy." “Malaysia is one of the few economies bucking gloomy global trends, with strong growth and low unemployment. But in today's interdependent world economy, no country is immune to global turmoil. Together, leaders must set an ambitious agenda for growth." The Prime Minister will be leading the Malaysian delegation to the WEF in Davos, Switzerland.
