Linatel, a leading telecommunications company, announced a 50 percent increase in the development of wireless deployment networks in the past 6 months compared to last year. Hamdy al-Lithy, CEO of Linatel, said the company is building and expanding networks for the Egyptian telecom company Mobinil inside Cairo and Alexandria with a investment that exceeded 20 million Egyptian pounds. Lithy added that Vodafone Egypt's networks are being maintained and expanded and maintained by Woawee and Ericsson, in addition. He added that 37 million Egyptian pounds are being invested in the local market. Linatel is preparing for the opening of it's new branch in Saudi Arabia in partnership with Iman company. The expected investments it would bring to the local Saudi market would reach $30 million. Linatel has also finished the first phase of its telecom cables in Sudan and is getting ready to present a technical and financial bid for the second phase. The first phase was done with a cost of $2 million while the second phase could reach up to $30 million. BM
