5th Annual Bil'in Conference on the Palestinian Popular Struggle

The 5th Bil'in Conference will be held next week, April 21-23, in the wake of a growing tide of popular resistance in the West Bank and Gaza. The conference will host Palestinian, Israeli and international activists, representatives of all Palestinian factions, as well as diplomats and parliamentarians.
The conference is designed to provide an opportunity for activists, supporters and observers of the Palestinian Popular Struggle from around the world to meet and plug into what is happening on the ground. It is also aimed at creating a space for concrete strategizing and for strengthening Palestinian grassroots efforts locally and internationally.
The conference will be opened at 9 AM on Wednesday the 21st, in a session participated by Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad, former Vice President of the European Parliament, Luisa Morgantini, Irish Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, Mairead Maguire and others.
The main event will be a panel called “Which Strategy for Liberation?” at 6:15 PM, which will feature senior representatives of the major Palestinian factions, who will discuss questions of strategies in the struggle for freedom. This panel represents the increasing importance of the popular struggle among all Palestinian factions, from left to right.
The panel's participants will be:
*Nabil Shaath, Central Committee of Fatah
*Dr. Mahmoud Ramahi, Secretary General of the PLC, Representative of the Islamic Parliamentarians
*Khaleda Jarrar, Palestinian Legislative Council Member, Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine
*Dr. Mustafa Barghouthi, Secretary General of the Palestinian National Initiative (alMubadara)
*Qais Abu Layla, Palestinian Legislative Council Member, Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine
*Bassam Salhi, Secretary General of the Palestinian People's Party
*Dr. Ahmad Majdalani, Secretary General of the Palestinian Popular Struggle Front (PPSF) and member of the PLO National and Central Council.
The second day of the conference will include workshops and tours to other villages and regions of the West Bank related to the Palestinian popular struggle.
A closing statement and the workshops' resolutions will be presented on Friday the 23rd. The conference will culminate in a mass demonstration demanding the dismantling of the Wall and settlements and against the ongoing repression of the popular struggle.
