Egypt's CAF fines Zamalek for Confederation Cup's final

Egypt's Zamalek will be fined $22,500 by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for the unruly actions of spectators during the second-leg final of the CAF Confederation Cup against Morocco's RS Berkane, held in Alexandria.
The decisions of the CAF Disciplinary Board's meeting which took place on 3rd July in Cairo, sanctioned the Egyptian giants for “the excessive use of smoke and flares, the use of lasers, and throwing water bottles.”
Zamalek lost 0-1 against RS Berkane in the first-leg final of the Confederation Cup held in Morocco, only to win the second-leg match 1-0 here in Egypt. Both sides immediately entered into penalty shootouts where the White Knights where they won the continental title 5-3.
CAF also fined the Moroccan team $30,000 due to “aggressive gestures towards match officials by other officials and players of RS Berkane,” in addition to “unsportsmanlike behavior and violent conduct of the technical team.”
RS Berkane's full back Omar Namsaoui will also be sanctioned with a four-match-suspension and a $10,000 fine, as the player “displayed violent conduct and confronted match officials during the medal ceremony,” according to the CAF official website.
Also, the second-leg final's referee Bamlak Tessema wrote in his report that he was aggressively abused by the president of Royal Moroccan Football Federation Fouzi Lekjaa after the game. The Disciplinary Board “decided that there is insufficient and corroborated evidence to prove the culpability of Lekjaa.”
