Egypt's housing, urban development projects hit 400 bln pounds in Sisi's first tenure

Egypt executed a number of housing, construction, and urban development flagships, with investments of around 400 billion Egyptian pounds ($22.6 billion) since mid-2014, said President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Wednesday.
Sisi further made his remarks at Story of a Nation event that 11,000 national projects have been implemented in Egypt over the past four years, with an average of three projects a day worth 2 trillion pounds.
The conference, which started Wednesday evening and continued for three days, was held at the military-owned Al Masah Hotel in the county's new administrative capital city.
The Egyptian president stressed that the country has built 25,000 housing units for risky slum-dwellers.
"We will have feddans for agriculture on a space of 200,000 square metres besides 1.5 million-Feddan Project in 30 June 2018," Sisi added.
On December 30, 2015, Sisi launched in Farafra the 1.5 million Feddan Project, which is one of mega national flagships and the pillars of a step toward the future. It is set achieve sustainable development.
This project is a model for the modern Egyptian countryside that will be a model for a series of villages, addressing the problems of the past and invest the present elements.
"If the Agriculture Minister carried out the 20,000 feddans, we will have 220,000 feddans," Sisi stated, referring that Egypt is also set to have additional million feddans besides the the 1.5 million Feddan Project at the end of 2019.
