95% of Al-Robeky leather zone phase I finished with cost of $135mn

Around 95 percent of phase one of Al Robeky zone for leather tanneries have been finished with total cost of 1.2 billion Egyptian pounds (US$135 million), Industry Minister said Thursday.
Minister Tarek Qabil stated that the first phase is scheduled to be totally executed within the coming few days through relocating leather tanneries from Magra El Oyon region to the zone, the minister stated.
Qabil made these remarks during his visit to Al Robeky zone in Badr industrial city to showcase latest developments in the project.
He added that the project encompasses three phases to accommodate the number of existent leather factories in Magra El Oyon.
The first phase is established on the space of 180,000 meters , of which 80 percent are dedicated for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).
The second phase of Al Robeky zone is set to be built on the space of 116 feddans while the third one is set to focus on attracting foreign investments to feeding, added-value, shoes, and leather industries.
One other side, industry ministry allocated around 200 million Egyptian pounds (US$22.5 million) for utilising works of the second phase of Al-Robeky industrial zone for leather tanneries.
