Japan-based Tokio Marine has been named an official sponsor of the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games, managing director of the Japanese insurer's affiliate in Egypt announced on Saturday.
Masaya Inagaki, Managing Director of Tokio Marine Egypt Family Takaful – an affiliate of Tokio Marine, further said that the parent company would also be supporting the Japanese national Olympic and Paralympic teams over the next six years as the Organizing Committee's official Non-Life Insurance partner.
The Worldwide Olympic Partners who support the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games are Coca-Cola, Atos, Bridgestone, Dow, GE, McDonald's, Omega, Panasonic, Procter and Gamble, Samsung, Toyota and Visa. In addition, domestic sponsors will also be core components of Tokyo 2020's Marketing Programme, and over the next six years they will be indispensable partners both for a successful delivery of the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games and as partners of the Japanese national Olympic and Paralympic teams. Accordingly, they will be accorded the rights to use Olympic and Paralympic designations and imagery including emblems, mascots and slogans. The Olympic sponsor programme is divided into four separate categories: the IOC's The Olympic Partner (TOP) programme constitutes the very highest level of Olympic sponsorship, while the three remaining categories are designated for domestic sponsors.
