HP Presents private cloud solution to VIVA's Customers
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 22 - 04 - 2012

HP announced that VIVA -Kuwait's advanced mobile telecoms provider- will transform its customers' communication, information and entertainment experiences with a private cloud solution from HP.
HP CloudSystem Matrix will make VIVA's IT services, applications, servers, storage, and networks flexible, dynamic, and available on-demand.
VIVA offers an innovative range of mobile telecommunications products, services and content propositions and world-class service to its subscribers. VIVA delivers superior coverage, performance and reliability, with internet speeds up to 21.6Mbps.
"In today's successful businesses, everything is mobile, connected, interactive, immediate and fluid," says Mr. Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al Badran, Chief Executive Officer, VIVA.
Badran added "The private cloud solution from HP will drive business growth for VIVA by enabling us to deploy new services in minutes rather than days. With a single-platform HP CloudSystem Matrix, VIVA will be able to cut complexity, grow revenue and reduce IT costs. It will enable us to progressively transform our IT into a hybrid service delivery organisation that provides the right outcomes in the right timeframe, at the right price."
In the initial phase of the implementation, HP CloudSystem Matrix will enable infrastructure as a service (IaaS) by consolidating and virtualising VIVA's Windows servers, and unifying services management.
Users will be able to select and subscribe to cloud services from a self-service catalogue. HP CloudSystem Matrix offers multi-hypervisor support to ensure that VIVA's VMware ESX environment runs at maximum efficiency, as AMEinfo stated.
Data center monitoring will allow the IT team to manage resources and optimize usage. Intelligent HP Cloud Service Automation software will automate VIVA's application orchestration to simplify service consumption, management and billing and relieve the IT team of time-consuming manual tasks.
HP Technology Services will provide implementation and integration services, and the reliability and availability of VIVA's HP cloud solution is underpinned by 24x7 support for the next three years.
"VIVA has been quick to recognise the cloud's advantages in speeding innovation, accelerating business processes and reducing time to revenue," says Santiago Cortes, Vice President and Managing Director, HP, Middle East, Mediterranean and Africa.
Cortes added "Cloud computing is the best way to boost efficiency, improve service delivery and cut costs. The HP CloudSystem Matrix platform will allow VIVA to evolve to a hybrid service delivery model that unifies the control and delivery of cloud assets, whether their provenance is VIVA's own data center, an HP-hosted cloud or an external source."
