EGX Chief Met with Global Financial Institutions in New York

The chairman of Egypt's bourse was the keynote speaker at a meeting with the world's largest financial institutions and participated in the Egyptian Day organized HSBC Global Bank.
Chairman of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) Dr. Mohamed Omran headed Thursday to the U.S. where he held three meetings Friday with some of the largest financial institutions in the world, according to an EGX release.
The day began with a meeting at the headquarters of the Bank of New York- Merrill Lynch, having Omran as the keynote speakers to a number of financial institutions to discuss the Government's efforts to improve the environment Investment.
After which EGX Chairman met with managers of investment funds and portfolios in the United States in what is known as the Egyptian for Stock Market organized by HSBC Bank with the presence of eight blue chips of the Egyptian stock market.
This busy day ended with the ringing of bell ceremony of the ending of trading session of NASDAQ OMX in celebration of Omran visit.
Omran said the visit comes in the context of the efforts of EGX to restore foreign investors' confidence in the economy in General, and Egypt in particular. He stated that he will seek to show positive developments in the economy lately, in addition to strategic projects launched in implementation such as the Suez Canal and the North Coast
Omran said the Egyptian market clearly interacts with the positive developments witnessed up to 105% since June, 2013, to occupy the first place in the growth of developed countries and second in emerging countries, stressing that investors ' confidence in the future of the economy helped the stock market to provide funding of more than 10 billion pounds in the last year.
