Egypt's Telecom Says Activating ID in Governmental Sectors is an urgent need

Eng. Atef Helmy, Egyptian Telecom Minister has continued his participation in ID World International Congress 2014 Wise Media's seventh annual EMEA Summit on the strategic role of identification; which opens its doors on February 24-25 at the prestigious government venue, the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR).
The Minister reviewed the Egyptian experiment in the digital identity beside the efforts of the government to turn into digital society through using information and communication technology tools and its roles in the expansion of scientific research, innovative and entrepreneurship fields.
Helmy also discussed the main goals for the digital community including the development of the system's form in dealing with the citizens with the governmental services by using unified digital identity that ensures the easily way to in getting safety services via internet or smart phones or specified offices.
Moreover, he stressed that turning into digital community will lead to access to knowledge society that required fixed believe and obvious vision from the government and Arab societies regarding the industry of Arab digital content with all of its heritage, thought, science, ethics, culture, research and others as the value of Arab digital content will reflect on the strangeness and position of the Arab world.
The event will be held under the patronage of H.H. Sheik Saif Bin Zahyed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the UAE, and is endorsed by the Emirates Identity Authority and the European Commission, with the ECSSR as supporting organization.
The Summit will see government delegations convene from around the world to discuss today's developments in ID and ICT-driven innovation in both the public and private sectors. which organized by Government ministers from seven different countries, high profile representatives of the United Nations and the European Commission, the Secretary General of Interpol and decision makers from leading organizations from around the world will participate in Wise Media's Sustainability Summit, featuring ID WORLD Abu Dhabi, Future Cities, Postal Innovation and the Global Migration Summit.
The event will be held on February 24 & 25 hosted under the patronage of UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, H.H. Sheik Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan and endorsed by the Emirates Identity Authority and the European Commission.
