Egypt's Al-Nasr Fertilisers sees major operational boost – Cabinet
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 12 - 06 - 2025

Egypt's Minister of Public Business Sector Mohammed Sheemy held a follow-up meeting to assess ongoing development at El-Nasr Fertilisers Company in Suez, a subsidiary of the Chemical Industries Holding Company, the Cabinet has announced.
The minister reviewed the current production capacities across Al-Nasr's five main plants, which include nitric acid, sulphuric acid, ammonia, ammonium nitrate, and ammonium sulphate.
He also followed up on the ongoing maintenance and overhaul works aimed at optimising asset use, enhancing operational efficiency, and expanding production capacity.
The ammonia compressor rehabilitation project aims to double the plant's ammonia output from 200 to 400 tons per day, ensuring a steady supply of feedstock to the company's facilities, the report added.
Sheemy also reviewed the operational status of the recently completed industrial wastewater treatment project. The new system, comprising three main units with a combined capacity exceeding 750 m3/hour, represents a significant step towards achieving full environmental compliance.
The minister reviewed the progress of the green ammonia production project with Benchmark, aligning with Egypt's green transformation goals. The project aims for a production capacity of 1,000 tons per day, advancing sustainable fertiliser manufacturing in Egypt.
